CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION:
The Centre for Low Carbon Hydrogen Studies, ICADE-ICAI (Universidad Pontificia Comillas) and the Icade School of Management and Business Administration (Universidad Pontificia Comillas) are holding a conference on Climate Finance on 8th & 9th May 2023, in which Robert F. Engle (2003 Nobel Laureate in Economics) will be a keynote speaker.
The conference arises as a joint project of the Centre and the Icade School of Management and Business Administration Faculty in their effort, and contribution to, the international community’s global aim to mitigate and adapt to Climate Change, most notably through studying the means of reaching net zero carbon emission. It is a forum por academics, policy makers, finance, risk and sustainability practitioners, strategists, and new energies & hydrogen business units. The aim is to work jointly to introduce enacting progress on clean transition to achieve the net zero goal. The increasing appreciation of the element of Risk arising from Climate Change has led to a burst in research on Climate Finance.
The conference at ICADE, entitled “New Contributions on Climate Finance,” will specifically address the topic of Climate Finance from the point of view of interdisciplanary research, combined with intellectual rigour and industry relevance. Through collaboration between academics, practitioners and policymakers, we aim to generate an understanding of the risks and investment opportunities arising under a continuously changing climate environment. The program considers contributions on climate risk, climate news, green finance, financial econometrics for climate, climate scenarios, clean energy, and the hydrogen economy.
